Piano Playtime Book: A Must Have for Little Music Lovers!

This couldn’t have been a more perfect gift for L this year, Grandma and Opa nailed it! We noticed quite early that L was really soothed, excited or curious about music and musical sounds and when she could sit up unsupported she would move excitedly when music played she liked; one may have generously interpreted as dance (as we did!) She loved me singing to her and for the first 2 years of her life was often the only way she could be soothed to sleep, if she was upset or sick.

This little book is lovely. It has 7 classic nursery rhymes inside:

Incy Wincy Spider, Humpty Dumpty, Mary Had a Little Lamb, If You’re Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands, Wheels on the Bus, Twinkle Twinkle and Row, Row, Row Your Boat.

The keyboard is a good size for little hands and have both numbers and colours which co-ordinate with the musical notation inside which provides a control of error.

You’re welcome to pop over to our Facebook Page – Pink Tower Living to have a look at the video we posted earlier, if of course you can excuse my singing – haha! L had a lot of fun playing, singing and dancing. I feel this will be much loved, it’s played with every day so far and is not only helping her continue her enjoyment of music, but the maths element of matching numbers, colours and recognising the symbols, beats and sequences is really great as well.

Each page is high gloss board with a beautiful illustration on one page followed by the musical notation on another. Simple, clean and easy to read and really quite robust, which is always a great feature with an interactive book. My only niggle with it is that there is no function to make it quieter. It is one volume and that volume is quite loud.

Same book I think with a different front page, you can buy at The Book People for a lovely price of just £5.99! Bargain! There are also other books in the range including Christmas Songs which we will be buying for next year and Teddy Bear Friends one with another selection of classic nursery rhymes which way may need to invest in as well.

If you have this book or decide to buy it, leave a comment and let me know what you and your little ones think of it 🙂
